Fun and frustrating

To put It’s A Me! in perspective, this indie game feels like a cross between the incredibly difficult Syobon Action games and the visual aesthetic of Dumb Ways to Die 2. It uses zoomed-out pixelated stages, letting you see most of the stages in a single glance. The use of bright colors makes it easy to distinguish between different game elements. 

Still, with all the visual choices that should help players, the game isn’t any easier. Aside from the fact that it requires almost pixel-perfect gameplay skills, it also has a lot of hidden traps that are basically inevitable. For some of the stages, persistence is enough, provided you have the patience. For others, you’ll need skill and patience—lots of both.

Another frustrating aspect of the game is its controls. In addition to the left and right arrows and the A and D keys for moving sideways, other controls are crazy. In fact, there are combinations of game controls that create unexpected results, making the game feel like a big joke the developer is playing on unwary players. It makes the seven-level game feel long.

Overall, It’s A Me! is a fun game. However, for casual players and those who are not used to difficult games, this can get really testing and annoying. It only has seven stages, yet the skill needed to complete a single one of them is enough to promise a moderate playthrough. From the game obstacles to the controls themselves, this game has more than the average amount of challenges.
